Artificial Grass Solutions has a growing list of clients from small pre-school day nurseries to primary schools.
The firm, which has grown 40% this year and plan to expand their eight-strong workforce to 11 and move into a larger 5,000 sq ft building, has invested £20,000 borrowed from Coventry and Warwickshire Reinvestment Trust in developing a first of its kind multi sport synthetic turf using UV stabilised close tufted polypropylene.
Its main use is in education because it can combine different sports into the one bespoke games area that a primary school might want, typically a four-lane running track and five a side football pitch, marked out also with hockey and netball.
Says Director Tony Grey: “Artificial grass is now a modern, cutting edge product, and one of the few growth industries around.”Artificial Grass Solutions have just hit an important milestone, installing more than 12,000 square metres this year – the equivalent of laying two Wembley pitches – of which some 70% has been supplied to schools.
“The CWRT funding has helped us expand further in the UK market as other schools seek to replace and upgrade games areas.”
Mike Bygrave, chief executive of CWRT, said: ““CWRT is about helping enterprising people and Artificial Grass Solutions are a perfect example of the kind of business we like to help.”
More than 200 business loans have been granted since CWRT started lending.
