Loan finance for businesses helping to improve the local economy in Coventry and Warwickshire
Car Go Bus

CAR-GO-BUS

Community Transport. Secretary Mike Brooks recently explained the great success of the Community Transport service provided by this pioneering non-profit making company. The company was set up with the assistance of loan finance from Coventry and Warwickshire Reinvestment Trust.

Pensioners and residents with disabilities and special needs living ‘out in the sticks’ can now climb aboard a special bus which will take them shopping into Nuneaton and Coventry every Thursday. Bought with our loan the mini bus boats easy access steps and a tail lift for residents with limited mobility. As well as offering a community service the bus can also be hired out and so far 61 community groups have taken up the opportunity to use the volunteer driven bus.

The company now employs three staff and has a whole host of volunteers who drive the buses. Following its great success, a brand new project called Get-Set & Go is a new bus service available to all people from the Camp Hill and Bedworth areas, including wheelchair users, to employment sites across Nuneaton, Bedworth & Coventry.

The aim of the new service is to plug the timetable not filled by public transport, and it is hoped the scheme will open doors for residents who previously found transport difficulties in getting to work or interviews. CWRT are happily stand-by to provide further funding if required in the future. (see literature)
