Inclusive Enterprise Programme Supports Woman's Sweet Business In Nuneaton

A budding entrepreneur is one of the first to benefit from a scheme in North Warwickshire designed to help people who may feel isolated from the business world set up their own firm.

Amirah Hyder from Nuneaton has received coaching and guidance from the Inclusive Enterprise Programme’s Business Dreams programme in all aspects of setting up her own dessert parlour, despite juggling university with a part time job.

Run by Coventry & Warwickshire Reinvestment Trust (CWRT), The Women’s Economy (WE) and backed by Warwickshire County Council, Business Dream programme, which is all about social inclusion, reaches out to women from all walks of life who want to welcome positive change.

“Since I was 16 I have known that I wanted to run my own business,” Amirah said.

With her idea in mind, Amirah approached The Business Dream and is thoroughly enjoying the journey. The free, local workshops and mentoring sessions have given her that vital positive mind set of setting your goals and working towards them – and learning every step of the way.

“The support is a really big help,” she said. “It has given me the confidence and belief that, even though nothing is set in stone, I will be able to achieve my goals.

“The Business Dream workshops cover so many things. The facilitator talks about things I hadn’t even thought about, such as negotiations, and I know there is a much more to learn. The personal mentor is very experienced and really knows what she is talking about. She made it clear the business plan is a very heavy document and she will work with me to ease me in.

“I am feeling very positive and excited and hopefully it will be a very good year for us.”

Setting the likes of Amirah on the chosen path is what the Business Dream is all about, says Galya, the Project Assistant.

“We believe that what clients can learn through our support can always be applied to their own business venture, job search or indeed any other activity they choose,” said Galya.

A ‘be your own boss’ workshop is running on May 10 and June 19 and a ‘confident start’ workshop is running on June 7 and July 4.

All workshops are free, run from 9am to 3pm and take place at the Hatters Space Community Centre, Nuneaton.
