Introducing Boho Bride Freedom Collection
‘For the Bride who wants to dress and express herself with absolute freedom’
We have interviewed Lynette Turner Director of Boho Brides and the inspiration behind the Boho Bride Freedom Collection. Let’s find out what’s new?
Hi Lynette, it’s lovely to meet and to see your amazing new collection. Can you tell us a little more about your unique design Boho Bride Freedom Separates Collection?
I am delighted to launch this innovative collection the Boho Bride Freedom Collection. It has been something I have wanted to do for a very long time and part of my original business plan. I have been working hard with the designer Laura Callard of Lola & Em for the last 12 month on the collection and we have created a collection that reflects the true Boho style.
The heart of the Freedom collection is that it allows brides that dare to be different to design their very own customised wedding gown to reflect their individual style and personality. They can choose their own bodice style, dress, skirt, bolero jacket, fabric, and colour.
Who has the collection been designed for?
The collection has been designed for brides looking for the Boho style ‘look’ for their wedding day - free spirited, individual and romantic. With soft flowing fabrics and delicate guipure lace this collection will make our brides look and feel amazing.
The versatility of bridal separates is the key to this collection along with the options of different fabrics, so that no two wedding gowns will be the same.
What can the brides choose from?
There are three basic shaped wedding gown styles, a skirt and five different lace bolero jackets, allowing the brides to mix and match the gowns, skirt and bolero jackets to their own individual style. This gives them the unique designer look at affordable prices.
Where did the idea come from to create such a versatile range?
I always set out to design my own collection for the boutique but I wanted something different, not just a collection of wedding gowns. Often brides have come in to try on wedding gowns and liked the top of one gown and the bottom of another. I also found it difficult to find a really boho style collection for the boutique in the right price point for my brides, which set me thinking about what was missing in the market place - boho style separates collection that could be mixed and matched to each individual bride’s style and that would reflect her personality.
Although I’m not a designer, I knew what I wanted. I sat down with our own in-house designer Laura Callard from Lola & Em and we put pencil to paper and created the idea for the Boho Bride Freedom Collection. That was over a year ago and we are now in the final stages of making up the samples ready for our launch at the end of May 2017. It’s been quite a journey.
How do Brides decide what to choose?
Brides can come in, look at the collection and try on the sample gowns and skirt and then add the different bolero jackets that they like.
They then get to choose which fabrics they like for each separate part from the look book. The look book has images of each of the different separates collection plus samples of the different fabrics, so if they want the bodice in satin but the skirt in lace they can, there is no restriction.
To make the process of choosing fabrics even easier there will be different fabric skirt overlays so that brides can see exactly how the gown will look in their favourite fabrics.
You use the most wonderful fabrics to choose from, how have you decided which to use?
Depending on the bride’s budget we can recommend fabrics to bring their beautiful boho style gown in on budget for them, starting at £1,300 and with no upper limit.
What should the bride expect when coming for fittings?
We take all the brides’ measurements and make up a toile for them. A toile is a fabric pattern that is fitted to the bride to ensure the exact shape of their gown is perfect. We can add embellishment details as well to make the bride’s dream of her perfect wedding gown a reality.
Each bride will come in for at least four different fittings until the gown is perfect and ready to be taken home for a very special day!
This collection looks perfect for the curvy figure?
Yes, that’s right, The Freedom collection is perfect for the curvy bride who is looking for a boho style for her wedding. The loose, romantic lines and the option of bolero jackets is perfect for achieving the boho look on the wedding day, allowing the bride to enjoy the whole experience, confident that everything fits perfectly.
