Coventry and Warwickshire Reinvestment Trust (CWRT) is a not-for-profit organisation committed to supporting individuals, start ups and businesses in Coventry and Warwickshire and through its investment, creating a positive and beneficial impact upon the local community.

Our mission is to help people and finance businesses.

We aim to build wealth and assets among the people and business community by providing loans to:

a) Financially disadvantaged people, particularly from some of the poorest areas in the country, and
b) aspiring entrepreneurs, businesses and social enterprises not able to secure finance from the high street banks.

CWRT’s services are designed to fill the gaps in mainstream lending, address market failures and to offer affordable alternatives to high interest doorstep lenders.

We understand that obtaining business finance can sometimes be difficult. The lack of a track record, unreasonable security arrangements, past financial problems or simply not meeting conventional credit scoring methods may raise barriers to obtaining funding.

Therefore we are here to help removes these barriers and provide you with an alternative route to access the finance that you need.

Since 2004, after receiving funding from various organisations including the European Regional Development Fund, Coventry City Council, and Warwickshire County Council, CWRT has loaned nearly £6.5 million to individuals, start ups and existing businesses in Coventry and Warwickshire that have had difficulty in raising finance elsewhere.

It [the loan] saved us 2 years in development work by providing cash flow needed in establishing prototype products ahead of the ‘organic’ growth of the company.
