Meet Our Client
Little Garden is a local florist that has a unique offering. They are one of only 10 shops in the UK that sells solely British-grown flowers, which are significantly more sustainable than importing flowers from abroad. After successfully trading since 2017 from a small studio in Gaydon, Little Garden had an opportunity to acquire the lease and fixtures of an established florist in Leamington Spa.
How did you decide you needed financial support?
We were looking to expand our business and moving the brand into the premises of an existing flower shop seemed like a perfect opportunity. Raising the required funds ourselves would have considerably delayed growth plans which could mean we would lose the opportunity to move to this prime location which meant we had to source funding.
Why did you choose Duplex?
Duplex offers a unique option for local businesses that is not available anywhere else on the market. It combined a loan and a grant making this funding option much more affordable than most high street lending. We didn’t apply for a bank loan as we felt Duplex was much more attractive and makes more commercial sense at this stage of the business. The grant makes the business purchase affordable, protects our cashflow and also enables our future growth at an earlier stage.
What are your plans?
We opened and rebranded the shop and refreshed the premises which has already shown increased traffic. With the additional space, we are diversifying our business and are now offering flower arrangement workshops which will bring in additional income as well as new clientele.
